Sailing courses

We organise sailing courses for adults and teenagers in Nuottaniemi. You can start sailing at any age! We use ILCA (Laser) dinghies with a radial rig, Zoom8s and, depending on the course, also 606s with a crew of three. The course target is to teach the basics of sailing with a Laser or Zoom8. After the course, you can start sailing regularly at our club. We also tailor dinghy courses to companies and organisations.

Dinghy course

For whom

The course is intended for youngsters and adults interested in dinghy sailing. We use Laser dinghies with a radial rig. Participants must be able to swim, because it is not unheard of for dinghy sailors to fall into the sea.

What you will learn

During the beginner’s course, you will learn the basics, such as getting your boat ready for sailing, starting off from the shore, the basics skills of sailing, and returning to shore.

During the advanced course you will polish your sailing skills during the weekend. Each participant will have their own boat.

What’s included in the course?

The course takes two days. We’re on the water in the morning and afternoon, coming ashore in between for a short lunch break (provided by the participants themselves). We use Lasers and Zoom8s on the course.

Schedule:
Saturday: from 9 am until 5 pm
Sunday: from 9 am until 4 pm

The beginner course has 2 instructors. The advanced course has one instructor.  Instructors have passed the Finnish Sailing and Boating Federation’s boating course. Instruction language is Finnish and  English.
